Moana 2 OTT Release Update: Disney’s popular cult animated movie has been performing exceptionally well at the ticket windows. The film already reached the USD 900 million mark at the global box office. As the viewers are enjoying the movie at the theatres, they are also eager to watch it on OTT. So, here is an interesting update on the same that you must not miss if you are a true animated movie lover. 

Moana 2 OTT Release Update

The movie was initially perceived as a Disney+ original series. However, the production company wanted a theatrical release to get good box office numbers globally. As Moana 2 surpassed the USD 900 million mark global box office, it is now aiming for the USD 1 billion mark. As per some media reports, Disney’s current strategy is to follow a 100-day theatrical window to get the desired box office amount. After which the movie is set to be released on OTT. A report by Digital Spy stated that based on these theories mentioned above, Moana 2 is likely to be released in March 2025 on Disney +. 

As the 100-day timeline ends on March 6 and Disney movies and shows release on Wednesdays, Moana 2 is expected to be released on March 12, 2025, on a Disney+. However, the makers are yet to confirm the official release date and platform.

About Moana 2

The story revolves around Moana, who is on a journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she's ever faced. The movie features Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Scherzinger, Awhimai Fraser, Rose Matafeo, Alan Tudyk, Temuera Morrison and Rachel House in prominent roles. It was released in theatres on November 27, 2024. It has been directed by Dana Ledoux Miller, Jason Hand and David Derrick Jr.
