Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who tied the knot in 2017, announced their separation in 2021. While both have moved on in their lives, Naga Chaitanya’s father, superstar Nagarjuna, recently shared that his son went through a tough time post-divorce but has now found happiness again.
In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna opened up about Chay’s emotional struggles, stating, “Chay has found happiness again. He is very happy. So am I! It has not been an easy time for Chay or the family. The separation from Samantha left him very depressed. My boy doesn’t show his feelings to anyone. But I knew he was unhappy."
The veteran actor also spoke about Naga Chaitanya’s new relationship with actress Sobhita Dhulipala, saying, “To see him smile again… Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple. They love each other dearly." Despite the separation, Nagarjuna maintained that his relationship with Samantha remains unchanged, emphasizing that personal matters between a couple do not affect family ties.
Watching Sobhita and Chay begin this beautiful chapter together has been a special and emotional moment for me. 🌸💫 Congratulations to my beloved Chay, and welcome to the family dear Sobhita—you’ve already brought so much happiness into our lives. 💐

Recently, Naga Chaitanya reflected on his divorce during an appearance on Raw Talks With VK. He shared that both he and Samantha have moved on and continue to respect each other. “We wanted to go our own ways. For our own reasons, we have taken this decision and we respect each other. We are moving on in our lives, in our own way… I’ve moved on with so much grace. She has moved on with so much grace. We are leading our own lives. I have found love again. I am so happy, and we have so much respect for each other," he said.
He also revealed that, coming from a broken family himself, he carefully thought about the decision before ending the marriage. "It was for the betterment of whoever was involved in the marriage… Whatever the decision was, it was a very conscious one, after much thought and with a lot of respect for the other person," he added.
