Akshay Kumar Car Seized: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar faced an unexpected situation in Jammu on Tuesday when traffic police impounded the SUV that had dropped him off at a public event. The Range Rover was found to have black-tinted windows beyond the legal limit set under the Motor Vehicles Act. According to reports, the car was stopped during a routine traffic naka (checkpoint) at Dogra Chowk. 

SSP Traffic Jammu City, Farooq Kaiser, reportedly confirmed, “The law is the same for all. The vehicle was found with tinted glasses beyond the permissible limit during our routine check. It has been impounded, and necessary action will follow.” The SUV, registered in Chandigarh, was reportedly used to ferry the actor from Jammu Airport to the new Kalyan Jewellers showroom at Hotel Vivanta. Akshay Kumar was not inside the vehicle at the time it was seized.

Meanwhile, traffic police have reminded the public that safety and visibility rules will be enforced equally for everyone, regardless of status. Any vehicle found with unauthorised modifications or illegal tints could be seized or fined until it complies with the law. “There is no permission to have tinted windows or any kind of modification in Jammu,” an ASI from the traffic departmentreportedly said.

On the other hand, the crackdown on tinted SUVs comes shortly after a serious road rage incident in the Gandhi Nagar area on 28 July, where CCTV footage showed a speeding Thar ramming a scooter and then intentionally hitting the rider again in reverse. The victim, a 65-year-old man, remains in hospital in Chandigarh with a skull fracture and brain haemorrhage. Despite the incident, Akshay Kumar’s public appearance went ahead without disruption. Organisers arranged alternative transport for the actor, who attended the event as scheduled. Authorities have reminded all vehicle owners that under the law, illegal tints must be removed and fines paid before reclaiming the vehicle.
