Akshay Kumar and Vishnu Manchu are getting ready for the debut of their Telugu-language mythological drama Kannappa, which explores one of the most renowned devotional stories in Indian culture. According to Akshay Kumar, a lot of Indian folktales have subtly influenced the plots and characters that currently characterize Western pop culture, particularly in Hollywood.
Akshay Kumar and Vishnu talked about India's enormous storehouse of mythology, folklore, and lost legends throughout the promos. He discussed how Hollywood draws influence from Indian mythology in an interview with Bollywood Hungama.
When asked if he thought all the stories in the country were being given a platform or a way to be communicated, Akshay Kumar expressed said, "There are so many stories here, and I personally believe that Hollywood takes a lot from our stories. Their superheroes and their superpowers are all inspired by our mythology. The kind of stories we have is unbelievable, like I didn’t know the story behind Kannappa before the film."
Vishnu Manchu responded by saying that he believes Star Wars was influenced "by Mahabharat." Additionally, he asserted that Satyajit Ray's writing served as inspiration for ET. It appears that he was alluding to the period in 1982 when Steven Spielberg's ET was released and it was believed that he had truly copied Satyajit Ray's The Alien.
