Farah Khan’s directorial debut Main Hoon Na is a blend of action, comedy and romance. The movie starred a huge cast of popular actors like Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kirron Kher, Suniel Shetty and others. The movie also starred actress Amrita Rao, where she shared screen space with the King Khan of Bollywood for the first time. A significant part of the movie’s success was the delightful onscreen chemistry and admirable ‘nok-jhok’ between Amrita Rao and Shah Rukh Khan. Amrita Rao's performance as the general's daughter Sanjana has been one of her most-talked-about roles, perfectly complementing Shah Rukh Khan's character Major Ram.

Amrita Rao recently recalled her shooting days on the sets of Main Hoon Na and shared how one important advice from Shah Rukh Khan changed her career path forever. The actress recently appeared on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast and shared that during the breaks of the shooting schedules of Main Hoon Na, SRK used to shoot for another movie. Once, he called the actress and her mother and praised Amrita for having the qualities of a superstar.

The actress also expressed that Shah Rukh Khan gave some precious advice to her, which completely changed the course of her career. She stated, “He said something very nice that 200 filmein aayengi, par humein sirf do filmein karni hai. Aur fir usmein se vo ek film ho that people are waiting for (He told me I will be offered 200 films, but I must sign only two in the hope that one of them is the one people are waiting for.) That has been my criterion while signing films, and that’s why I have been so selective in this journey."

Praising Shah Rukh Khan, Amrita Rao mentioned that he used to be very observant on the sets and made sure that there was no retake. “He used to observe that I have newcomers with me and used to take that nervous energy from us. Every time the first take was the best take, there were no second takes because his temperament was like second take dena hi nahi hai (don’t ask for a second take), be so focused ki second take dena hi naa pade (ensure you don’t need to)," she exclaimed.
