Anupamaa Set Fire Incident: Rupali Ganguly’s popular television show made headlines earlier today due to a massive fire breakout on the set. The incident took place at Film City in Mumbai's Goregaon in the early hours of Monday, June 23. As per reports, the fire broke out at 5 AM before the shoot, which was scheduled to begin at around 7 AM. Following this fire incident, Rajan Shahi, producer of the daily soap, issued an official statement informing that there were no casualties. They urged everyone not to believe in any rumours or unverified stories.

Anupamaa's production house, Shahi Production, in an official statement stated, “This is to inform everyone about an unfortunate incident that took place early this morning on the sets of Anupamaa. A fire broke out, but by God’s grace, there were no casualties. There was no shoot on Sunday, and today’s call time was scheduled later in the day."

The note also shared that the fire department and all concerned authorities are currently investigating the reason behind the massive fire on the set.

"At the time of the incident, no unit members were present on set—only the security personnel and set staff were there, who were all safe. No animals were harmed, and proper care was taken for their safety. The fire department and all concerned authorities are currently investigating the reason, especially since there was no shooting on the set and the main power lights were turned off*. The exact cause of the fire is still being determined," the note read.

The producers requested everyone to believe only the official information and updates from their side and ignore fake news.


The note concluded by stating, "They urged everyone not to believe in gossips about the fire incident. “It has also come to our notice that some gossip mongers are attempting to spread false news and misleading information. We sincerely request everyone not to believe in any rumours or unverified stories that may be circulating. Please wait for official and confirmed updates from our side."

After Anupamaa set fire incident happened in the early hours of Monday, soon after The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded a high level of investigation on this matter.

The association voiced their concern as this incident is yet another tragic reminder of the recurring fire outbreaks in Mumbai and its surrounding film studios. Time and again, fires have engulfed sets due to the blatant negligence of producers, production houses, and television channels, who consistently fail to implement even the most basic fire safety measures. This apathy places the lives of thousands of workers at risk every single day.

The post of association also read, "AICWA demands that the investigation must also explore whether the fire was deliberately set by the producers or the channel in order to illegitimately claim insurance — a horrifying possibility that would mean risking lives for financial gain."
