Barun Sobti is one of the biggest Television stars, who made a smooth transition to OTT. The Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon actor gained huge fame with her stint in shows like Asur and Kohrra. His work in Asur created a lasting impression among the audience. After two successful seasons, Barun Sobti has recently confirmed Asur season 3. The actor stated that the writing had finished and the shooting had not begun yet. Here is what he said.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Barun Sobti said, “It will take some time before we begin shooting.” In the same interview, the actor also shared his journey and explained how Asur became a turning point of his career. He said, “People started seeing me as a serious actor after Asur.” He also praised the sharp writing of the film and called it terrific. Sobti said, “When I first read the script, I genuinely wondered why they were casting me. It was so well-written. I told them, ‘Sir, why are you taking me?’” Barun further added that if someone would have debated him about his casting in Asur, he would have won the debate, saying that he shouldn’t have been there. He also said that he is not talking about casting or his performance; he just got lucky to have the project.

Asur has a blend of mythology, psychology, crime and thrill. The first season premiered in 2020 on JioHotstar and instantly gained praise from the audience and critics. The second season of Asur was released in 2023. The franchise also stars Arshad Warsi, Riddhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Vishesh Bansal and Sharib Hashmi in key roles. Both seasons of Asur are currently streaming on the popular OTT platform JioHotstar.
