Chhoriyan Chali Gaon is a brand new reality show that features the thrilling journey of 11 urban female celebrities who trade their urban and comfortable lives for the rural lifestyle. The celebrities are stripped of facilities and have to tackle daily life struggles in a rural set-up. Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon reflects the perfect blend of urban and rural lives with themes of survival and emotional growth.
Chhoriyan Chali Gao has a star-studded contestant list including Anita Hassanandani, Krishna Shroff, Aishwarya Khare, Anjum Fakih, Rameet Sandhu and many others. Among these, a name that stands out is that of a female comedian and writer Sumukhi Suresh. The comedy queen has shifted grounds and moved to a Hindi reality show to challenge herself in the hope of exploring more. During a recent interview with Mid-Day, Sumukhi Suresh opened up about making this shift and taking a daring decision to enter a reality show.
During the conversation, Sumukhi Suresh shared that she is genuinely very excited, and everybody who knows her is surprised by her decision. “I was going through full-blown panic, thinking, what am I doing with my life? While everyone feels I am doing so many things, I don’t register it,” she added.

The female comedian revealed that she instantly said yes to the show as she felt that it was high time to shake things up so that she wouldn’t get stuck in one place. Referring to her contemporaries, she expressed, “A lot of good comedians have done their fair share of things. Like Vir Das has done movies, stand-up, then there is Zakir Khan, who has done his own TV show. Be it Tanmay Bhat or Gursimran Khamba, they’ve all explored.”
Talking about making up her mind for participating in the show, Sumukhi said, “This scared me the most. Look at all the contestants, everyone is so comfortable in their skin here and my skin is the only different one here. So, I thought of trying it.” She also shared that even if she fails, it will be fine with her as long as she has done her part well.
On being asked about giving up the lavish lifestyle and entering into a rural setting, Sumukhi said that she was aware of all the bathroom woes and was scared of it as well. But the writer also revealed that she has been doing a lot of squats in the gym as she knew the show was going to be physically gruelling. Sumukhi Suresh expressed that this show could be like a boot camp for her, from where she can return as a brand new person.
