Mukesh Khanna, the original Shaktiman of the country, who has also been an important part of mythological sagas like the Mahabharata, has expressed his concerns regarding the casting of Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming movie Ramayana. The first glimpse of the movie is out and has received immense love from the netizens via social media. The movie has a star-studded cast including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and many others. One role that has caught actor Mukesh Khanna’s attention is that of Lord Ram, played by Ranbir Kapoor.

Mukesh Khanna recently expressed his doubts about Ranbir Kapoor pulling off the role of Lord Ram. During a recent interview with Galatta India, the Shaktiman actor revealed that he was about to make a reaction video of the Ramayana teaser, which showed Ranbir Kapoor climbing trees and shooting arrows. He said that his team stopped him and told him that the teaser was AI-generated.

Further, during the conversation, Mukesh raised the depiction of Lord Ram’s character as a warrior and said, "Ched chaad karoge toh phasoge. Aap Ram ko yodha bata rahe ho, vo Maryada Purushottam the. They’re showing Lord Ram climbing trees and shooting arrows. Krishna or Arjuna can do that, but Ram wouldn’t do it. If Ram proclaimed himself as a warrior, he would never ask monkeys to help him. He was enough, one man against Ravana."

The actor mentioned that he still has some doubts about whether Ranbir Kapoor can pull off his role in the much-awaited mythological epic. As per Mukesh, Ranbir has built an image after doing movies like Animal, and it would be difficult for the audience to accept him in this role. Regarding this, he stated, “He’s a good actor, but he has an image chasing him — and that’s Animal. I don’t have an objection to it. He could do it. But I think agar aapne Rama ko Yodha Rama bataya, toh log accept nahi kar paayenge. Iske upar gadbad ho sakti hai.”
