Coolie Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna starrer Tamil movie has finally hit the screens on August 14. The film received warm responses from the audience and the critics. With huge expectations, Coolie has opened at the box office with big numbers, earning over Rs 60 crore. The movie seems to rule at the ticket windows in the following days as well, as it was released eyeing the long Independence Day weekend. It also smashed the opening day record of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2, which earned over Rs 50 crore.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 1

As per Sacnilk, Coolie earned Rs 65 crore on Day 1. The film had an overall 86.99 per cent Tamil occupancy on Thursday. It had 81.95 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 85.13 per cent in the afternoon shows, 86.57 per cent in the evening shows and 94.32 per cent in the night shows.

According to Trade Analyst Ramesh Bala, Coolie opened around Rs 170 crore gross worldwide. It is the first movie in the Kollywood industry to earn this huge numbers on its opening day collection worldwide. 

Coolie Budget

As per reports, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 350 crore. Seeing the opening day collection, it might not take longer to cross the budget mark.

The film has been in the buzz for several reasons, first of all it's Rajinikanth’s movie, secondly, it has a cameo of Aamir Khan, who made his first move to the South Indian film industry, followed by Nagarjuna portraying the main antagonist in it. Now fulfilling the expectations of the fans, the film has opened with great numbers.
