Actor Akshaye Khanna has taken the internet by storm with his performance and dance moves in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. His electrifying entry scene in the song FA9LA, has been garnering massive attention ever since the film’s release in theatres on December 5. Although the film is led by Ranveer Singh, Akshaye’s portrayal of menacing Pakistani crime boss and politician Rehman Dakait has become one of the major highlights. Now, his introductory dance sequences, improvised by the actor himself, have sparked discussions among fans who believe they have seen similar moves. Those dance moves appear to resemble none other than his father, the late legendary actor Vinod Khanna, back in 1980. Now, an old video of Vinod Khanna dancing at a concert has gone viral on social media, leading netizens to believe that Akshaye copied his father's signature style in FA9LA.

Did Akshaye Recreate Vinod Khanna’s Dance Moves In Dhurandhar? 

After Akshaye's entry on the energetic track FA9LA, written and performed by Bahraini-based hip-hop rapper Flipperachi with Daffy and produced by DJ Outlaw, went viral online, fans began digging out old videos. This time, a video of his father, Vinod Khanna, has resurfaced and is being widely circulated online. The video reportedly from a 1989 event in Lahore, Pakistan, shows actor Vinod Khanna dancing alongside Rekha and former Pakistan cricket captain and ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan. Vinod's dance moves quickly gained significant attention from fans, many drawing similarities with his son’s style and Akshaye's recent viral performance.

Fans Spot Similarities Between Akshaye And Vinod Khanna's Dance Moves

One X user wrote, “NVM I got it, Akshaye Khanna has copied his father in Dhurandhar."

Akshaye Khanna Improvised His Entry In Dhurandhar

The man behind Akshaye's viral dance steps is Akshaye himself, as revealed by his co-star Danish Pandor. In a recent chat with Filmygyan, Danish Pandor revealed that Akshaye's dance was never a part of the original choreography in Dhurandhar. He shared, “He did all of that on his own. Full choreography was happening, and in the middle of that, Akshaye sir asked Aditya, ‘Can I dance?’ Aditya said, ‘whatever you feel like doing.'"

Dhurandhar added, “So everyone is dancing, and he looks at everyone, and then he starts dancing on his own. And we were all awestruck."

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun.
