A fresh social media interaction has stirred controversy involving influencer Dhanashree Verma and her ex-husband, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. It all began when stand-up comic and streamer Samay Raina posted a light-hearted yet controversial video with RJ Mahvash on his Instagram. In the clip, Samay made several references that fans interpreted as indirect digs at Dhanashree, including jokes about alleged cheating, alimony rumours, and her appearance on the reality show Rise And Fall.

Meanwhile, the video quickly went viral. Although Dhanashree’s name was never mentioned, several lines were seen as clear hints. At one point, Samay joked about his “rise and fall within two months” , a remark viewers linked to Dhanashree’s statement on Rise And Fall, where she claimed that Chahal had cheated on her just two months into their marriage. The comedian also joked about “half of eight crores,” a reference believed to hint at the alleged Rs 4.75 crore alimony. He even wore a T-shirt reading, “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” the same phrase printed on a shirt Chahal was spotted wearing during their divorce proceedings.

Following the viral video, Dhanashree appeared to respond indirectly through her Instagram stories. She posted a photo of her pet dog with a caption written from the dog’s perspective, “Don’t worry guys, meri mumma ka acha samay hi chal raha hai” She also added a sticker which stated, “Buri nazar wale tera muh kaala”, which roughly translates to “Evil-eyed people, shame on you.” Fans immediately connected this post to the “sugar daddy” reference, interpreting it as a subtle comeback. Adding more fuel to the controversy, Samay later shared a screenshot from a video call with Chahal, captioning it “Love you, my sugar daddy,” with laughing emojis. Chahal joined in on the humour, replying, “Be ready for one more case,” along with laughing emojis, a response that only intensified the buzz online.

Meanwhile, the former couple’s relationship has been under the public microscope since their high-profile split earlier this year. On Rise And Fall, Dhanashree opened up about her marriage, revealing that she “caught him in the second month” and realised early on that things wouldn’t work out. She also denied all rumours about alimony, stating that the divorce was mutual and amicable. Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal first met during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 through her online dance classes. They married in December that year, but their relationship ended in 2025 after a very public fallout.
