Did You Know Arshad Warsi’s Role In Jolly LLB Was First Offered To This Golmaal Actor?

Jolly LLB is one of the most celebrated franchises of all time, which is set to be back with the third instalment of the movie. Ahead of the release of Jolly LLB 3 on September 19, popular Marathi and Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade revealed that he denied Arshad Warsi’s role in the first part of Jolly LLB. Years later, when he had seen the movie, he congratulated director Subhash Kapoor, then he got to know that he had been approached for the role, which later became iconic. He then regretted missing out on this opportunity.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shreyas Talpade said, “I remember meeting director Subhash (Kapoor) Ji, and he narrated a story to me. At that time, I was tied up with other commitments, so things didn’t move ahead. A few years later, when Jolly LLB (2013) released, I watched it and immediately called him to congratulate him.”

He continued, “I told him, ‘Sir, what a film, lovely film, I simply loved it, great work.’ And he (Subhash sir) just laughed and said, ‘Don’t you remember? I had come to you with this film.’ I said, ‘No sir, I remember meeting you, but this was not the film.’ He said, ‘Of course, it was Jolly. I changed a few things, but essentially this was the story I brought to you.’”

Shreyas Talpade added, “I was shocked when he told me the whole thing. I told him, ‘Please tell me this was not the same film.’ It unfortunately was. I never knew I was missing out on such an opportunity.”
