Diljit Dosanjh Breaks Down Remembering Unreal Experience From Amar Singh Chamkila Trailer Launch; Says ‘I Felt…’

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh was nominated for his first-ever Emmy award for his role in the movie Amar Singh Chamkila. He was nominated under the category of Best Actor. While he did not win the award, for him, the recognition alone was a great achievement that brought him immense pride. Diljit recently talked about a heartwarming encounter he had during the trailer launch of the movie.

Diljit Dosanjh poured his heart out during an interview with Netflix and said, "There's a shot in the film that I have done. I did that shot because another artist couldn't make it in time. Imtiaz sir told me, 'Sit in the field and turn your face to the left, look towards the screen and smile,' and I did that". He further added, "But when I saw that shot in the trailer, when he turned and looked at me, my own character in the film, it felt like Chamkila was looking at me and smiling. That is what got me emotional."

Diljit expressed, "I felt Chamkila was actually there that day. That's what I want to feel for Chamkila. That's why I am here."

Taking much joy and pride in playing the role of a true music god, Diljit, on his Emmy nominations, said, "I haven't come here for Diljit Dosanjh's Validation. I have come here only for Chamkila."
