Mika Singh asked Diljit Dosanjh to issue an apology for working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his next movie, Sardar Ji 3, in the midst of the India-Pakistan crisis. He stated that the singer-actor should cut out 'objectionable scenes' from the movie in order to end the debate.

Mika Singh wrote that the country will forgive Diljit if he apologises. He emphasized the term 'desh pehle' and offered an amendment that the crew of Sardaar Ji may implement. "Guys, I understand we all make mistakes in life. But when we do, there’s one simple word that holds power: Sorry. If Diljit made a mistake, we are all willing to forgive. But he must apologise and remove all the objectionable scenes from the movie. That’s it. No hate. Just respect. Desh pehle (Nation first)."

This comes a day after Mika Singh attacked Diljit for collaborating with a Pakistani celebrity in another note.  He denounced his behavior and referred to him as a 'fake singer.' He also brought up past issues, such criticism of a supposed movie starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor.

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit Dosanjh clarified that Sardaar Ji 3 was finished prior to the escalation of political tensions between India and Pakistan. "The film was made when everything was normal. There were no issues at the time," he said.

Diljit Dosanjh shared, "Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."
