Diljit Dosanjh's controversial movie Satluj was removed from Zee5 a couple of days after its release. However, community screenings of the film have begun at gurudwaras across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Jammu.
According to reports, gurudwara committees, along with members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), are organising the screenings to ensure the film reaches audiences.
In Delhi, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has also extended its support. DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka has reiterated the demand to restore Satluj on ZEE5.
The screenings come at a time of growing public interest. Public is curious to know what is it about the biographical drama that keeps getting it removed? Community organisations say the initiative aims to keep Jaswant Singh Khalra's story alive.
The film is being screened at gurudwaras and community spaces across five northern regions. In Jammu, screenings are scheduled at four gurudwaras between July 10 and 13.

A public screening has also been announced at Jaipur's Baba Fateh Singh Auditorium in Chandi Ki Taksal Gurudwara. According to SGPC sources, Sikh institutions collectively decided to continue screening the film after it was removed from OTT.
According to a report in The Logical Indian, one source said the community did not want Khalra's story to disappear. If people couldn't watch it online, gurudwaras would open their doors instead.
