Deepika Padukone is making global headlines for being honoured with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actress has become the first Indian star to receive this recognition, and fans across the country are celebrating her achievement. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame selection panel chose her name from hundreds of nominations. While fans were celebrating this milestone, another surprising update has emerged from the South film industry.
Did you know that Deepika Padukone was the first choice for a Telugu movie titled 8 Vasantalu? Director Phanindra Narsetti reportedly revealed that he had initially planned to cast Deepika in the lead role, alongside Tamil superstar Suriya. However, the producers eventually asked the director to cast fresh faces instead. As a result, the final cast of the Telugu movie included Ananthika Sanilkumar, Ravi Duggirala, and Hanu Reddy.

Telugu 8 Vasantalu Cast, Crew And Plot
8 Vasantalu revolves around the life of a young woman named Shuddi Ayodhya. The movie blends romance and drama together. Ananthika plays Shuddi Ayodhya, a writer with martial arts skills, and the movie was praised for its storytelling and visuals. The music was composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, while the cinematography was handled by Vishwanath Reddy. Other key crew members include production designer Aravind Mule and editor Shashank Mali.

However, the Telugu movie has recently faced controversy. During a promotional event, concerns were raised about a scene involving a Brahmin character accused of assault in Varanasi. The video went viral, prompting the director to release a statement. Narsetti clarified that the scene was based on actual events involving illegal slaughterhouses that were later shut down in 2017. He said the film was made with research and respect for all religions, and the characters reflect human nature, not stereotypes.

Deepika Padukone’s Work Front
On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be last seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD. She was also set to star in Spirit movie, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, but reports suggest she walked out of the project due to creative differences. Currently she is gearing up for Atlee’s upcoming action movie, which will also star Allu Arjun.
