Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological saga featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram has been making a lot of noise on social media. The makers released the first glimpse of the movie a few days ago, and since then, fans haven’t stopped gushing about their beloved Tamasha actor Ranbir Kapoor. The movie will feature Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, among several other superstars. But very few people know that before Ranbir Kapoor, the Dabangg star Salman Khan would have graced the silver screens several years ago, if his brother Sohail Khan had not fallen in love.
Bollywood’s Bhaijaan once picked up a bow and arrow to deliver one of his most iconic roles throughout his career tapestry, but because of an off-screen blunder, this opportunity went down the drain. According to a report in BollywoodShaadis, Sohail Khan was preparing for his next directorial after making Auzaar. His plan was to make Bollywood’s biggest version of Ramayana with a huge starcast.

Salman Khan was roped in for the role of Lord Ram, and actress Sonali Bendre was approached to play the role of Goddess Sita. Even popular star Pooja Bhatt was involved in the project. Reportedly, 40% of the shooting was done, and Salman Khan was in full swing to promote the movie. The news of this prestigious project generated a huge wave of excitement among his fans, but destiny played its role and completely turned the tables for the people involved in the project.

As per a report in Mid-Day, Sohail Khan and Pooja Bhatt found love in each other and grew super close during the filming of the movie. Their bond got so serious that Pooja Bhatt once talked about their marriage plans in an interview in 1995. However, things didn’t work in the favour of the lovebirds, as Sohail Khan’s father Salim Khan meddled in the relationship. Salim Khan advised his son Sohail to maintain distance from the actress to avoid complications in his career. This led to a fallout between the stars, and hence, the actress walked out of the movie. Eventually, the entire project got shelved indefinitely.
