Esha Deol Met Dharmendra’s First Wife Prakash Kaur After 30 Years: ‘Touched Her Feet…’

Dharmendra’s personal life has always been in the public eye, especially his marriage to Hema Malini, while he was married to Prakash Kaur. When he married Malini, the superstar was already a father to Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta and Ajeeta. After his marriage to Hema Malini, he became the father of Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Despite being a family, they maintained a distance relationship rather than making it public. One of the most notable stories from this journey is when Esha never met Kaur until she was 30.

In the memoir, Hema Malini: Beyond the Dream Girl, it is revealed that Esha Deol visited Dharmendra’s first home in Juhu when her uncle, Ajit Singh Deol, was ill. It was the first time Esha met Prakash Kaur (she was 30 at that time). Recalling the moment, Esha once said, “I touched her feet, she blessed me, and I walked away.” In the same memoir, Hema Malini talked about her bond with Prakash Kaur. She said, “I didn’t want to disturb anyone. I am happy with whatever Dharamji did for me and my daughters. He played the role of a father, like any father would do. Though I have never spoken about Prakash, I respect her a lot. Even my daughters respect Dharamji’s family. The world wants to know about my life in detail, but that is not for others to know. It’s no one’s business.”

Esha Deol also shared her reaction when she came to know about her father’s two wives. She said in the same memoir, “So, that was when I understood that my mother had married someone who was already married to another lady and that they also had a family. But frankly speaking, I never felt bad about it. Till today, I don't think there is anything wrong with it. And I give full credit to my parents for not making us ever feel uncomfortable.”

Dharmendra has been hospitalised at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. There were speculations about the actor’s death. Amid the rumours, Sunny Deol’s team issued a statement, which read, “Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Kindly don't indulge in spreading false rumours regarding his health.”
