Akshaye Khanna is garnering all the appreciation and acclaim for his extraordinary performance in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. Netizens were quick to judge that Akshaye effortlessly overshadowed Ranveer Singh's performance in the movie. People from the industry also came forward to shower the actor with praise. Director Farah Khan also applauded his performance in Dhurandhar.
Akshaye Khanna and Farah Khan worked together in the movie Tees Maar Khan in 2010. In the movie, Akshaye played the role of an actor who wishes to win an Oscar one day. Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif were the main leads in the film. It made a decent run at the theatres and now the movie has become a sensation among Gen Z.

Farah recently posted a story on Instagram in reference to Tees Maar Khan. She posted a reel made by a fan page which showed Akshaye's scene from Dhurandhar alongside a scene from Tees Maar Khan, where Akshay Kumar says, "Vo rahamera superstar...mera Oscar." The text on reel read, "Everyone after watching Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar movie." Farah then reshared the reel and wrote, "Akshaye Khanna truly deserves an Oscar."

Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar became one of the most talked-about releases of the year. The Aditya Dhar directed movie was released on December 5. In just three days, the movie was able to garner a net collection of approximately Rs 103 crore. Dhurandhar featured a massive cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and others.
The backdrop of the movie is set in Pakistan's Lyari region and follows the story of a daring man who leads an Indian intelligence mission. The movie offers drama, action, bloodshed and power-packed performances from each actor. The movie's runtime is 3 hours and 32 minutes, and reportedly had a budget of Rs 280 crores.
