Ghaati OTT Release: Anushka Shetty’s much-awaited Telugu movie Ghaati has finally hit the big screens after months of delay and speculation. The action-packed crime drama, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, was released in cinemas on September 5, 2025. The film received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics on the day of release. As per Sacnilk, Ghaati opened to Rs 2 crore on Day 1 and after four days of successful run the Telugu movie has made a total net collection of Rs 5.54 crore in India. While the film is still running in theatres, news of its OTT release has already created a huge buzz among fans who are waiting to watch it from home.
According to a report by OTTPlay, Prime Video has acquired the digital rights of Ghaati for a record-breaking price. This marks the highest digital deal of Anushka Shetty’s career so far. The Telugu movie is expected to premiere on the streaming platform in the first week of October 2025, just a month after its theatrical release. Although the exact date has not been officially announced, early reports suggest the film is gearing up for a strong digital run.

The Plot Of Ghaati
Ghaati is set in the Eastern Ghats, on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The story revolves around the Ghaati tribe, a marginalised community that has been forced into cannabis cultivation by the powerful Naidu brothers. Anushka Shetty plays Sheelavathi, a fearless woman who, along with Desi Raju (played by Vikram Prabhu), dreams of freeing their people from the world of crime. Their attempt to build an independent future brings them into direct conflict with the syndicate that controls their lives. This clash results in a devastating personal tragedy for Sheelavathi, which transforms her journey into one of resilience and vengeance. What begins as a struggle for survival eventually turns Sheelavathi into a legendary figure within her community.
Ghaati Cast & Crew
The Telugu movie stars Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu in lead roles, supported by a strong ensemble cast. This includes Chaitanya Rao Madadi, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Rudra Mulpuru, Jisshu Sengupta, John Vijay, Ravindra Vijay, Devika Priyadarshini, Larissa Bonesi, VTV Ganesh, Raju Sundaram, and several others. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Ghaati has been produced by Yeduguru Rajeev Reddy and Saibabu Jagarlamudi under First Frame Entertainments, with UV Creations presenting the project.

What’s Next For Anushka Shetty?
After Ghaati, Anushka Shetty is set to appear in Kathanar The Wild Sorcerer, which also marks her debut in Malayalam cinema. Directed by Rojin Thomas, the fantasy action-adventure tells the story of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a legendary 9th-century Christian priest believed to possess magical powers used to fight supernatural forces. The film stars Jayasurya in the titular role, along with Prabhu Deva, Vineeth, Sandy Master, Nitish Bharadwaj, and Kulpreet Yadav in key roles. Interestingly, the film was shot in a custom-built studio using advanced On-Set Virtual Production (OSVP) technology.
