HAQ Teaser Out: The much-anticipated teaser of Haq, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi, has finally been unveiled. Directed by Suparn S Varma, the courtroom drama is inspired by one of India’s most debated court cases the Supreme Court’s landmark judgement in Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum. Alongside the teaser, the makers also announced the official release date. The teaser hint at a courtroom drama charged with passion, conflict, and thought-provoking dialogue. It sets the stage for a gripping story that goes beyond personal struggles to challenge broader notions of faith, identity, belief, and law.
Yami Gautam took to Instagram to share the teaser with the caption, “A fight for dignity, justice and for what’s rightfully hers - #HAQ Inspired by the landmark Supreme Court Judgement of Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum. Releasing in cinemas on 7th November!” The teaser begins with a tender love story between a husband and wife. However, it quickly takes a sharp turn as a private dispute escalates into a powerful legal battle. At its heart, the story explores larger social and political questions that continue to spark debate even today. Among these is the highly sensitive issue of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) under Article 44 of the Indian Constitution. Haq will arrive in cinemas on 7th November 2025.

About HAQ Movie
In Haq, Yami Gautam Dhar plays a strong Muslim woman who refuses to accept injustice quietly. Abandoned and wronged, she finds the courage to take her fight to court, demanding her rightful share for herself and her children under Section 125 of the law. Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi stars opposite her as a sharp and celebrated lawyer, marking the first time the two actors have worked together. Furthermore, HAQ movie draws from the book Bano: Bharat ki Beti by Jigna Vora, offering a fictionalised yet deeply emotional take on the Shah Bano case. HAQ is directed by Suparn S Varma and written by Reshu Nath. The movie also features Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady in key roles.

Yami Gautam And Emraan Hashmi’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, reports suggest that Yami Gautam is also preparing to return with Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2, alongside Sunny Kaushal, by the end of 2025. Emraan Hashmi, on the other hand, is set to make his Telugu debut in They Call Him OG with Pawan Kalyan, releasing on 25th September.
