Dharmendra News: Amid growing concern for veteran actor Dharmendra’s health, the President of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), Ashoke Pandit, has filed an official police complaint against what he described as 'unverified and unscrupulous' paparazzi. The complaint accuses certain photographers and online media handlers of breaching the actor’s privacy by entering his residential premises without permission and capturing videos and images of his family members. These visuals were later circulated online, sparking outrage and raising serious questions about media ethics. Dharmendra, who had reportedly been on a ventilator, was discharged from hospital on 12 November and is currently receiving treatment at home. However, chaos escalated earlier in the week after some portals falsely announced his death, causing major distress among fans and the film fraternity.
In his complaint addressed to Senior Inspector of Police Sunil Jadhav, the President of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), Ashoke Pandit described the paparazzi’s actions as 'inhuman, unethical and a gross violation' of Dharmendra’s rights. He stated that the behaviour amounted to trespassing, invasion of privacy and potentially defamation under various IPC and IT Act sections. Pandit urged the Mumbai Police to take strong action and set a precedent to ensure such incidents are not repeated. He emphasised that film personalities are not public property, especially during moments of emotional distress. IFTDA later shared the complaint publicly on social media, condemning the 'disgraceful conduct of certain media personnel and calling for immediate corrective steps to protect artists from similar intrusions.

Meanhwile, the complaint came shortly after Dharmendra’s daughter, Esha Deol, issued a statement dismissing the circulating rumours and requesting privacy for the family. On 13th November, a visibly upset Sunny Deol was seen requesting photographers outside his home to behave sensitively and avoid creating chaos. His emotional plea quickly went viral. Additionally, Amitabh Bachchan also reacted strongly to the lack of media responsibility. Without naming anyone, he wrote a cryptic post on X criticising the absence of ethics in certain media practices. In a longer blog entry, he expressed disappointment over those who prioritised personal gain over compassion and sensitivity.

Dharmendra Health Update
As Dharmendra continues to recover, the Deol family has repeatedly urged the media to respect their privacy. Esha Deol clarified that her father is stable and recovering at home, dismissing the false information circulating online. She thanked fans for their prayers and asked for calm and sensitivity. The situation has triggered a wider debate within the industry about intrusive media behaviour and the urgent need for stronger regulations.
