India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025: There has been a lot of debate over Team India playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. This high-stakes clash is set to take place in Dubai on Sunday evening. Many have called for a ‘boycott’ of the match, while others are hoping the men in blue will win. Ahead of the match, actor Raveena Tandon has made a special request, expressing her hope that Team India will at least pay tribute to the victims of terror attacks by wearing black bands.

Taking to Instagram story, Raveena posted, "Hope the team wears black bands and takes a knee. A minute’s silence for the fallen. And then take a victory. @indiancricketteam #bcci."
Actor and father-in-law of cricketer KL Rahul, Suniel Shetty, also joined the debate over India playing the Asia Cup 2025 match against Pakistan.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Suniel Shetty said, "It's a world sporting body. They have to abide by those rules and regulations because there are a lot of other sports and a lot of athletes who are involved in them. As Indians, I think that is our personal call that we have to take, whether we want to see it, whether we don't want to see it, whether we want to go or not go and that's a call India has to take."
Defending the cricketers, he added, “You cannot blame cricketers for playing because they are sportsmen, they are expected to represent the country. I think that’s a call we have to take. If I’m not going to see it, I’m not going to see it. It’s for you to decide what each one of you wants to do. It’s not in BCCI’s hands. It’s a world sporting body and you can’t blame anybody."

The outrage on social media grew, with many demanding a boycott of the match following the Pahalgam terror attack in April, where 26 tourists were killed and many were injured. In response, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor in May. A complete ban was also imposed on Pakistani artists. The decision to carry on with the India vs Pakistan match drew criticism and the BCCI faced backlash for not withdrawing India from the Asia Cup 2025.
