Is Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 India’s Most Expensive Comedy Movie Ever With THIS Whopping Budget?

Akshay Kumar returned with the popular comedy franchise Housefull with its fifth instalment. With a bigger stellar cast and gripping storyline, Housefull 5 is set to hit the screens on June 6. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Bajwa, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar and Chunky Panday in significant roles. With a bigger star cast and including the production charges, the film has reportedly been made on a huge budget of Rs 225 crore. As per recent reports, Housefull 5 is one of the most expensive comedy movies ever made in India. They shot big parts of the movie on a real cruise ship in international waters for 90 days.

The rest of the movie was shot in grand sets in Mumbai. Housefull 5 beat the budget of the previous instalment (Rs 165 crore) and Golmaal Again (Rs 142 crore). It is the three most expensive films of Akshay Kumar along with his films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sooryavanshi. Earlier, a source told Pinkvilla, “Housefull 5 was among the most difficult films to set up for Sajid Nadiadwala. He has made a lavish ‘Killer Comedy’ for the audience, without compromising on the costs.”
