Kaantha Box Office Collection Day 2: Kaantha immediately became the talk of Tamil cinema circles due to the great expectations and intense curiosity of spectators when it first hit the big screens. Dulquer Salmaan-led period drama received favourable reviews from both reviewers and viewers. He plays the enigmatic TKM in Selvamani Selvaraj's Tamil-language period thriller, which also stars Bhagyashri Borse and Rana Daggubati in significant parts that deepen the story. Even with a lot of positive word of mouth, Kaantha's box-office results have not quite reflected this energy.
Kaantha made a meagre Rs 4.35 crore on its premiere day. The Telugu dubbed version made Rs 1.7 crore, while the Tamil regions brought in Rs 2.65 crore from the Tamil belt, reports Sacnilk. The Dulquer Salmaan starrer earned Rs 4.85 crore on the first Saturday, bringing its two-day total to Rs 9.20 crore.
Kaantha had an overall 27.37% Tamil Occupancy on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The movie witnessed the highest audience turnout in the night shows (41.15%), followed by the afternoon shows (27.23%) and then the evening shows (25.31%).

What Is Kaantha All About?
Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana Daggubati appear in the 2025 Indian Tamil-language period drama thriller Kaantha. The film's creators later stated that it is a work of fiction, despite early rumours that it was based on the life of M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan are co-producing it under Spirit Media and Wayfarer Films.

The plot, which takes place in Madras in the 1950s, revolves around Ayya, a well-known Tamil filmmaker, and his strained relationship with T. K. Mahadevan, an actor he helped make famous. Tensions rise when Mahadevan renames a women-focused performance from Shaantha to Kaantha in order to improve his own public image. This finally results in a murder investigation involving Mahadevan, Ayya, or Kumari.
