Kaantha Box Office Collection Day 7: Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashri Borse starrer Tamil mystery drama thriller, which hit the screens on November 21, has been maintaining a very decent collection. In 7 days, the film somehow managed to reach the Rs 20 crore feat. Seeing the current pace at the ticket windows, it seems difficult for the movie to sustain for a longer period of time. Amid big releases like 120 Bahadur, Mastiii 4, Kaantha needs to improve its performance to be in the box office game.

Kaantha Box Office Collection Day 7

As per Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 1.40 crore on Day 7. The net collection of Kaantha stands at Rs 20.65 crore. The film had an overall 13.31% Tamil occupancy on Thursday. It had 12.36 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 14.82 per cent in the afternoon shows, 12.38 per cent in the evening shows and 13.68 per cent in the night shows.

As per reports, Kaantha has been mounted on a budget of Rs 40 crore. The film has to earn another Rs 20 crore to start earning profits.

About Kaantha

As per the official premise, the movie is set against the backdrop of the 1950s in Madras (now Chennai). Kaantha shows the ego clash between a legendary director (Ayya) and his superstar protege, Mahadevan. The conflict between the two escalated when Mahadevan took over a film originally titled Shantha, renaming it Kaantha and altering its direction. This leads to an on-set murder of the new heroine, Kumari, which turns the story into a murder mystery. The movie explores the toxic power dynamics between the two men and their complicated relationship with Kumari. Kaantha stars Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani and Bijesh Nagesh in key roles. The movie has been directed by Selvamani Selvaraj.
