Kajol has been ruling the big screens for over three decades and for a few years has been dominating the OTT space as well. The actress, who will be next seen in JioHotstar series The Trial Season 2, recalled a tough situation from the sets of her 1992 debut movie, Bekhudi. She shared how difficult it was to slap co-star Kamal Sadanah just for the sake of a scene. After getting triggered by the director’s words, when she gave the perfect take, Kajol recalled how she started howling on the sets and also apologised to Sadanah for the same.

In an interview with Brut India, Kajol recalled, “To slap someone completely blameless in front of you for a scene was beyond me. I could not understand it. It was just not working. I just could not slap him. I just couldn’t raise my hand.”

The actress continued, “It went beyond my morality, my ethics, my conscience. I liked Kamal. He was so sweet and so nice to me. A perfect gentleman. He was lovely to work with. Why would I slap him? It was so alien to me then. My director said I think you want to slap him. I think you are punishing him and that’s why you keep on doing this retake again and again. You want to do it. You are punishing him for something.”

“And after that I was like, ‘now, you watch’. Then there was one perfect take. But after that I cried, I howled. I have apologised to Kamal. I said I am sorry because it affected me on a deep level that I have done something completely unfair with someone who totally didn’t deserve it and it was just so wrong,” she added.

Coming back to her work front, Kajol had a back-to-back release this year with her first, Maa, which released in theatres on June 27. She was then also seen in Sarzameen, which had a direct OTT release on July 25. After two releases in a row, Kajol is back again with her third release, which is her popular show, The Trial season 2. It is slated to release on September 19 on JioHotstar.
