Kanchana 4: The Kanchana franchise has always been one of Tamil cinema’s most successful horror-comedy series. Led by actor-director Raghava Lawrence, the films have managed to strike the perfect balance between spooky thrills and laugh-out-loud comedy. With four movies already released, fans have been waiting eagerly for the fifth part. Now, reports suggest that Rashmika Mandanna might step into the franchise in a very unusual role.

According to a report in News18, Rashmika Mandanna has been cast in a key role in Kanchana 4. The Raghava Lawrence starrer is expected to have the Pushpa actress portraying the role of a ghost. However, the makers of the horror comedy film series are yet to provide an official update. If true, this will mark Rashmika’s first supernatural role in South Indian cinema, making her addition to the cast even more exciting. Fans are waiting for an official confirmation from the makers before celebrating. Meanwhile, early reports also suggest that Kanchana 4 may feature Pooja Hegde and Nora Fatehi in important roles, alongside Lawrence himself. The film will once again be directed by Raghava Lawrence, who has been the backbone of the franchise since its beginning.

About Kanchana Franchise

The Kanchana journey started with Muni (2007), followed by Kanchana (2011), Kanchana 2 (2015), and Kanchana 3 (2019). Each part has seen success at the box office, and expectations are naturally very high for the fifth instalment. As of now, the film is said to be in production, but the release date has not yet been announced.

Rashmika Mandanna’s Upcoming Projects

Apart from Kanchana 4, Rashmika has several big projects lined up. She was recently seen in Kuberaa with Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni, directed by Sekhar Kammula. The story focused on a beggar who unintentionally gets pulled into a tycoon’s scam. Rashmika is also set to appear in Thama, a Hindi horror-comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, is the fifth instalment in Maddock Films’ Horror Comedy Universe and explores vampire mythology. Additionally, she is awaiting the release of The Girlfriend, another highly anticipated project.
