South actor Vishnu Manchu, whose anticipated Telugu movie Kannappa hit the screens today, recently talked about the movie’s OTT release. At a pre-release event, Manchu shared its digital plans for the film and clarified that Kannappa won’t be releasing on OTT soon. Vishnu also mentioned that the streaming rights of the multi-starrer movie have not been sold yet. Vishnu further mentioned that he does not have any pressure to release it on OTT as his only intention is to show the best theatrical experience to the audience. Here is what he revealed.
Vishnu Manchu said, “Kannappa will not be released on OTT at least for ten weeks. I have decided to bring the film to the audience first and want to give a great experience to them. I am happy that I do not have the OTT release pressure and there will be a 10-week window.”
Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh Government had approved a Rs 50 increase in ticket prices of Kannappa. The copy of statement has been going viral on social media. The statement reads, “In the circumstances reported in the reference 3rd cited, the Government after careful examination of the request of Sri M Mohan Babu, Producer of M/s Twenty Four Frames Factory Pvt. Ltd., hereby accord permission to the management of all the Theatres in the State of Andhra Pradesh to enhance the ticket rates upto Rs 50/- + GST for 'Multiplexes' and 'Single Screens', (limited to higher class tickets), over and above the admission rates mentioned in G.O.Ms.No.13, Home (General-A) Department, dated: 07.03.2022, for a period of Ten (10) days from the date of first release of the film i.e. on 27-06-2025 "KANNAPPA", in relaxation of the rules/guidelines specified in the references 1st and 2nd cited.”

About Kannappa
The mythological movie revolves around a Lord Shiva devotee named Kannappa, who plucked his one eye to fit in a bleeding Shiva Lingam. It focuses on life and the journey to become a devotee to the deity. Kannappa also features Preity Mukhundhan, Mohan Babu, Josita Anola Rodrigues and Brahmanandam in key roles. The film also features Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal in cameo roles. The movie has been receiving positive reviews from the audience so far. It is expected to do wonders at the box office.
