Kantara Chapter 1 Trailer OUT: The much-awaited trailer of Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has finally been released, and fans cannot keep calm. Dropped on Monday, the gripping preview offers audiences a glimpse into the prequel of the 2022 blockbuster Kantara. The Kannada movie is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. Additionally, Shetty is once again set to take the centre stage in a powerful avatar. Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 will release worldwide on 2nd October 2025 in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English. With its blend of mysticism, folklore, and high drama, the film promises to be one of the biggest spectacles of the year.

Rishab Shetty took to instagram to make the trailer release announcement with the caption, “A saga of folklore, faith, and fire, born from our soil.” While the first part revolved around land rights, caste struggles, and faith, this chapter dives deeper into mythology and folklore. Rishab Shetty is seen as a divine representative, wielding a trident and fighting against injustice for his people. The story, however, is set in an earlier timeline, giving the audience a chance to explore the origins of the Bhuta Kola ritual that formed the spiritual backbone of Kantara. Furthermore, Kantara (2022) was made on a modest budget of Rs 16 crore but went on to earn over Rs 400 crore worldwide, so the expectation is high is from this prequel.

Kantara Chapter 1 Team Details

Adding intensity to the story is Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah, who plays the antagonist King Kulashekara. His menacing presence is set to bring a darker and more complex conflict to the narrative. Alongside Shetty and Devaiah, the film also stars Rukmini Vasanth and veteran actor Jayaram in key roles. The Kannada movie is backed by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. Composer B. Ajaneesh Loknath returns to score both the songs and background music. Arvind Kashyap takes charge of the cinematography, while Vinesh Banglan handles production design. The script has been co-written by Anirudh Mahesh and Shanil Gowtham.
