Khusbhu Sundar Hits Back At Trolls After Sundar C's Exit From Thalaivar 173: ‘What A Disaster You…’

Sundar C was initially roped in to direct the much-anticipated movie, Thalaivar 173 (tentatively titled), which stars Rajinikanth in the lead and Kamal Haasan as producer. A couple of days after the announcement was made, the filmmaker released a press note stating that he had withdrawn from the project. Days later, Sundar C’s wife, Khusbhu Sundar, reacted to rumours about why he decided to walk out of the film. An X user claimed that the filmmaker narrated a subpar story to Rajinikanth and called his press note ‘disrespectful and arrogant’.

The user wrote, “#Thalaivar173 started with big expectations, news states that there was no proper story which lead to the problem. Whatever it was, #SundarC should’ve spoken to production. Instead, he published a letter which felt disrespectful & arrogant @khushsundar.” Reacting to it, Khushbu Sundar tweeted, “And you tweet and raise questions on hearsay?? What a disaster you are.”

Another user posted a meme of Rajinikanth running away from Khushbu, calling it the “reason for #Thalaivar173 dropped.” She reacted to the tweet and wrote, “Appadidhaan un amma unnai peththaangala (Is this how your mother treats you)?? Thanks for the info.”

A troll wrote on X, “Kusu. Heard that rajini and kamal thrown your husband out of their production movie due to sundar c pathetic story narration. So is it time for Indian film industry to throw your husband Sundar c to dustbin??? @khushsundar.” She then warned him, “Yen seruppu size 41, adi vaanga thayaara (My slipper size is 41, are you ready to get beaten up)??"

Earlier today, Kamal Haasan addressed the media and offered clarity on the current status of the project. He also talked about Sundar C’s exit and he said, “Sundar C already sent his statement; no, there is no possible collaboration. I’m a producer, so I have to make a film that satisfies my star, Superstar Rajinikanth. We will keep hearing scripts until it satisfies him. We are searching for another story for the film which we are collaborating together as actors.”

In a note, Sundar C wrote, “In life, there are moments when we must follow the path laid out for us, even if it diverges from our dreams. My association with these two icons goes back a long way, and I will always hold them in the highest regard. The special moments we have shared over the past few days will be cherished forever by me. They have taught me invaluable lessons, and I will continue to seek their inspiration and wisdom as I move forward.”
