Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 9: Anurag Basu must be thrilled, as his romantic musical drama Metro In Dino is inching closer to being declared a success. Despite facing strong competition from other releases, the movie starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan saw a big jump in collections on its second Saturday. The movie is currently going head-to-head with other films like Sitaare Zameen Par, Maa, Housefull 5, Maalik, and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. However, on day 9, Metro In Dino was the top pick among audiences, earning Rs 4.75 crore. This marked a huge 94% increase compared to Rs 2.44 crore earned on day 8.
So far, the movie according to a report in Sacnilk has made Rs36.76 crore net in India, which comes up to approximately Rs 43.37 crore gross. Here's a quick look at the film’s box office performance so far:
Day 1 – Rs 4.05 crore
Day 2 – Rs 6.81 crore
Day 3 – Rs 7.79 crore
Day 4 – Rs 2.69 crore
Day 5 – Rs 3.24 crore
Day 6 – Rs 2.64 crore
Day 7 – Rs 2.35 crore
Day 8 – Rs 2.44 crore
Day 9 – Rs 4.75 crore
Total – Rs 36.76 crore
According to reports, Metro In Dino was made on a mid-range budget of Rs 45–50 crore. If it continues at this pace, this could become director Anurag Basu’s first successful movie in 13 years—his last hit being Barfi in 2012. The film is doing especially well in urban areas. Thanks to strong word-of-mouth, more people are heading to cinemas. On day 9, morning occupancy was around 18.63%, rising to 47.86% by afternoon, and peaking at 56.28% in the evening.
