Television actor Mohit Malik has joined the cast of Mirzapur The Film. As per a report by Mid-Day, the shoot is set to kick off next week at Film City, Mumbai. The movie was first announced in October 2024 and it has been surrounded by the buzz since then. Farhan Akhtar, who is a co-producer of the movie, officially confirming that Mirzapur is being adapted into a film.

Mohit Malik, a well-known name in Indian television, is all set to make his big-screen debut. After entertaining audiences for years with popular shows like Doli Armaano Ki and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, the actor will now step into the cinematic adaptation of the hit series Mirzapur.

Mohit took to his Instagram Story and wrote, "Excited to join the world of Mirzapur! Thank you to the team and producers for this warm welcome on board. Grateful and looking forward to this journey."

The letter read, "Dear Mohit, We are excited to have you on the team for “Mirzapur." Can’t wait to see the magic you bring to the screen. Best wishes, Ritesh and Farhan."

Announced in 2024 with a special video featuring Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu, the film adaptation of the popular web series Mirzapur is set to hit theatres in 2026.

Created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the movie will have a theatrical release across India before arriving on an OTT platform. The film is also expected to see the return of Shweta Tripathi as Golu.
