After the success of Thudarum, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is all set to take on a new role in his upcoming film Hridayapoorvam. Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, the movie is one of the most anticipated Malayalam films of the year. The movie also stars Malavika Mohanan and has finally wrapped up shooting. Mohanlal shared glimpses of the film on social media.

Hridayapoorvam marks the reunion of Mohanlal with director Sathyan Anthikad after their collaboration in the 2015 movie Ennum Eppozhum. The upcoming movie is touted to be a family entertainer with a blend of humour. Announcing the film's wrap up, Mohanlal shared a photo with a team on his X handle and wrote, "That’s a wrap! See you on the big screen. #Hridayapoorvam." Soon after his post, fans shared their excitement. One of the users in the comments section wrote, "Waiting another banger." Another user's comment read, "Next Blockbuster Loading." Another social media user poster, "Next 100 crore loading."

About the movie: The upcoming Malayalam drama Hridayapoorvam is written by Akhil Sathyan, and the screenplay and dialogues are penned by Sonu T.P. Mohanlal to play the character of Sandeep Balakrishnan alongside Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. The movie also features Sangita Madhavan Nair, Sangeeth Prathap, Siddique, Sabitha Anand, Baburaj, Nishan, Lalu Alex, Janardhanan and S. P. Charan. The story is backed by Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas. Hridayapoorvam is reportedly scheduled to be released in theatres on 28 August 2025.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal's Thudarum, which was released in theatres on April 25, is breaking all records at the box office collection. Even in the third week, the movie has a solid grip and has surpassed the records of his earlier movie, L2: Empuraan. Besides him, the movie featured a stellar cast including Prakash Varma, Thomas Mathew, Shobana, Farhaan Faasil, Aarsha Chandini, Baiju and Binu Pappu. It has been directed by Tharun Moorthy and bankrolled by M. Renjith.
