Padma Awards 2026: India's largest civilian awards will honour some of the nation's most well-known figures from theatre, music, and film today, May 25. At the Padma Awards 2026 ceremony in New Delhi, several well-known figures from the entertainment industry, ranging from renowned playback singers like Alka Yagnik to iconic screen legends like late actor Dharmendra and Malayalam star Mammootty, will be honoured.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, at 5:00 PM, Droupadi Murmu will present the esteemed Padma Awards 2026 during the Civil Investiture Ceremony (Part-1) at the famous Rashtrapati Bhavan.

On May 25, President Droupadi Murmu will present the Padma Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan's inaugural Civil Investiture Ceremony. The Indian government has announced 131 Padma awards this year, including 113 Padma Shri, 13 Padma Bhushan, and five Padma Vibhushan.
Who Will Be Honoured At Padma Awards?
The Padma Awards for a number of Indian movie artists were announced by the government in January 2026. Late Hindi movie legend Dharmendra will be honoured with the Padma Vibhushan. The Padma Bhushan will be given to Malayalam actor Mammootty and legendary playback singer Alka Yagnik.
Prominent actor R Madhavan and late icon Satish Shah have been selected for the Padma Shri award. Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, seasoned theatre and movie artists Anil Kumar Rastogi and Arvind Vaidya will also be honoured this year.
