Parineeta Re-Release Date: Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan starrer musical romantic movie initially released in theatres in June 2005. It is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s 1914 Bengali novel, which focuses on the love story of childhood sweethearts Shekhar and Lalita, who wanted to get married. But a growing suspicious teared their relationship apart for some time, which was cleared after years. Parineeta marked the Bollywood debut of Parineeta. It also featured Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Dia Mirza, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Raima Sen and Achyut Potdar in key roles. It has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Vinod Chopra Films.

When To Watch Parineeta In Theatres?

To mark the 20 years since its original release, the film is set to return to the big screens. Parineeta is slated to release on August 29 in cinemas by PVR INOX. The classic film will be available for a week. The makers wrote on Instagram, “She was poetry. He was fire. Together, they made magic. Experience Parineeta like never before — India’s first 8K restored classic and soundtracks remastered in 5.1 surround sound. Only for 1 week! #Parineeta re-releasing at PVR INOX on Aug 29!

Vidya Balan said in a statement, “This is a very emotional moment for me. Parineeta is where it all began… Every frame of the film carries a piece of my heart, and I’ll forever be grateful to Pradeep da (my Dada) and Mr. Vinod Chopra for believing in me. I owe so much of who I am as an actor to this film. Even after all these years, people remember the film, the songs, and how it made them feel. People say every frame in the film is like a painting…and that is Pradeep Sarkar’s magic… So I do hope people and the new generation discover old-world love through Parineeta.”

Saif Ali Khan added, “Parineeta was a turning point for me—a film that allowed me to explore a quieter, more restrained side of my personality.
