It’s a rare sight when a BTS member has been criticised for their action and this time it is Jungkook, who became the victim of massive trolls online. Amid the genocide in Gaza, Starbucks fell under (Boycott, Divest, and Sanction), list of brands that are boycotted worldwide. As reported by Koreaboo, the brand sent a statement to the portal regarding the company’s stance on NCT collaboration. Social media users have still voiced their opinion against the brand. The movement has gained momentum in making public figures mindful of what they are promoting. But how is BTS Jungkook related to the controversy? Recently, the Kpop star’s picture with fitness trainer Ma Sun Ho has been going viral online, where Jungkook can be seen holding a cup of Starbucks’ coffee.

Well! The BTS ARMY not only noticed Jungkook’s tattoo but also the cup of Starbucks. Fans on social media urged their idol to educate himself about the ongoing situation and not to promote a brand which are allegedly financing the genocide in Palestine. Some even went on to say that they have been judging people who are promoting intentionally or unintentionally the brand and Jungkook ‘is not an exception’. Here is what the recent Tweets say.

A user said, “Dear #JungKook @BTS_twt Pls don't associate or promote STARBUCKS or any companies that are financing the genocide in Palestine. We love you and want you to stand with humanity. Pls educate yourself and pay heed to @BDSmovement #SpeakYourselfBTS #HYBEDivestFromZionism.” Another said, “I’ve been hardcore judging everyone in my life who still drinks Starbucks in the big year of 2025, and Jungkook isn’t exempt from that.” A tweet read, “going to starbucks in korea is certainly a choice but whatever floats ur boat jungkook.” A fan urged, “can u put the starbucks away jungkook like please....”

The debate has increased at a point on social media where people are asking the Kpop stas’ responsibility to know the ongoing socio-political issues, especially if their fanbase is located in affected regions. As the humanitarian situation in Gaza has rapidly increased, it also escaled frustrations and criticism of people on social media over every few things that are related to the situation.
