Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have been grabbing headlines for quite some time now about their engagement rumours. It was reported that the duo got engaged in a private ceremony at Deverakonda’s residence in October. Since then, reports have circulated claiming that the two stars will get hitched in Udaipur in February 2026. Amid the ongoing speculations, Vijay and Rashmika attended the success event of the latter’s movie, The Girlfriend. What caught the attention was when Vijay noticed that the actress had arrived, he immediately shook hands and kissed it. The PDA moment captured by the paps has been going viral on social media, creating a buzz among their fans about the wedding.

Rashmika Mandanna could not stop blushing after Vijay kissed her hand. Fans can’t stop gushing over the video. A user said, “Sab has rhe hai bhai piche, so cute.” Another wrote, “That's more than official now.” A comment read, “Bechara bhul gaya ki woh private relationship me hey do cute.” A fan said, “New couple soon.” Another fan wrote, “This attitude is forever.”

Vijay and Rashmika became a hit onscreen pair after they starred in the 2018 film Geetha Govindam and the 2019 film Dear Comrade. Back in 2018, Rashmika broke off her engagement with Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty, citing incompatibility issues. At the same time, Vijay was linked with several actresses. For a couple of years, Vijay and Rashmika have been linked with each other.

At the same event, Rashmika gave Vijay Deverakonda credit for the movie’s success. Rashmika said, "Viju, you've been a part of this film since the beginning... and you're a part of the success of the film... You've been a part of this whole journey so personally. I can just hope that everyone has a Vijay Deverakonda in their lives because that's a blessing.”

Earlier, after The Girlfriend released, Vijay Deverakonda tweeted about the movie and said, “I know they have made something powerful. Something important. Something that will be hard to digest. I know the performances by all actors are top class, and what @23_rahulr has created with @iamRashmika and @Dheekshiths and @ItsAnuEmmanuel is going to create an impact. Tomorrow we will all see this happen with The Girlfriend, go experience it in the theatres and think. Lots of love and big hugs to the entire cast and crew.”
