Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated superstar Rajinikanth on completing 50 years in the industry. PM Modi wrote on X, "Congratulations to Thiru Rajinikanth Ji on completing 50 glorious years in the world of cinema. His journey has been iconic, with his diverse roles having left a lasting impact on the minds of people across generations. Wishing him continued success and good health in the times to come."

Replying to PM Modi's post, Rajinikanth wrote on X, "Respected @narendramodi Modi ji, I am deeply grateful for your warm wishes. It is truly an honour to receive them from a leader I have long held in the highest regard. Thank you for your kind words. Jai Hind."

PM Modi's wish came amid Coolie's box office success. The film has indeed become a blockbuster at the box office, with impressive pre-sale bookings and a successful release. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie stars Rajinikanth alongside Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, and Upendra, with Aamir Khan making a special appearance. The film's advance ticket sales have been remarkable, crossing Rs 5.9 crore in international markets and earning over Rs 100 crore globally on its opening day. With such success, it's no wonder fans are abuzz about the movie.

About the movie: Coolie follows a former coolie union leader, Deva, played by Rajinikanth, as he investigates his friend's death, which leads him to a crime syndicate. The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj, with special appearances by Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde.

The film was announced in September 2023 as Rajinikanth's 171st lead role, with the working title "Thalaivar 171." Principal photography began in July 2024 and wrapped up by mid-March 2025, with filming locations including Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, while Girish Gangadharan handled cinematography and Philomin Raj edited the film.
