Priya Marathe, known for her performance in Pavitra Rishta, left the entire entertainment industry in shock after passing away in Mumbai on Sunday, August 31. She had been battling cancer and undergoing treatment for the past year. Following the news of her demise, her Pavitra Rishta co-stars expressed disbelief, struggling to accept that she is no more. She breathed her last at the age of 38. Usha Nadkarni, who worked with the late actress in Pavitra Rishta, broke down and paid emotional tribute to her.

As soon as the news of Priya Marathe's death came out, a wave of mourning swept through the entertainment world. Many celebrities and fans have been expressing their shock over the untimely demise of the actress on social media. Actress Usha Nadkarni also joined in remembering her, recalling how Priya used to laugh and joke with everyone on set, yet never indulged in anything unnecessary.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Nadkarni said, "Humare Pavitra Rishta mein bahut saare Marathi artists the, unmein se ek thi Priya Marathe. Sab logo jaisi thi, par zyada bolti nahi thi. Sabke saath hansi-mazaak karti thi lekin zyada faltugiri nahi karti thi. Woh bahut achhe svabhav ki, shaant ladki thi. Apne kaam se matlab rakhti thi."

She stated, "Lekin mujhe samajh nahi aata, Bhagwan aisa kyun karta hai. Yeh umar hai kya uske jaane ki? Mujhe laga tha abhi woh achhi hai."

Revealing how Marathe was suffering due to Cancer treatment, Nadkarni added, "Once, when I had gone to Ankita Lokhande's house, her name came up. I said that her treatment was over and she was appearing in serials. But Ankita said no, her condition had worsened. Main usko dekhne bhi jaane wali thi, par Shantanu bola koi mat aao kyunki chemo ki wajah se uske baal gir gaye the, toh usko acha nahi lagta tha koi aake dekhe. Lekin acha nahi hua uske saath."

Actor Subodh Bhave also shared an emotional note about the sudden demise of his co-star and cousin Priya Marathe.

The post on Instagram featured her moments with husband and actor Shantanu Moghe, whom she married on April 24, 2012.

The actress’ sudden demise has left the television and film industry, as well as her fans, in shock. They are remembering her in their ways on social media.
