Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently underwent a neck angioplasty in Mumbai. Hrithik Roshan's father shared his health update on social media, revealing that he has fully recovered. He explained how a regular health check-up led to an unexpected hospitalisation. Doctors discovered a 75 per cent blockage in both his carotid arteries, the major blood vessels that function to supply blood to the brain. He urged people to remember that prevention is always better than cure.

Rakesh Roshan took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of himself with doctors from the hospital along with a shocking health revelation.

His post read, "This week has been truly eye-opening. During a routine full-body health check-up, the doctor conducting the sonography for the heart suggested I also do one for the neck. By chance, we found out that although asymptomatic, both my carotid arteries to the brain were above 75 percent blocked. Which, if ignored, could be potentially dangerous.”

Without giving it a thought, he admitted himself to the hospital. He added, "I immediately admitted myself into the hospital and got the preventative procedures done. I am back home now fully recovered and hope to get back to my workouts very soon. I hope this inspires others to stay on top of their health especially where the heart and brain is concerned. A heart CT and a carotid brain artery sonography ( which is often ignored completely) is a must for everyone above 45- 50 years old. I think it’s important to remember that prevention is always better than cure. I wish a healthy and aware year to you all."

The news comes after several reports emerged online stating that Roshan was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on July 16 after his health deteriorated. Later, his daughter, Sunaina Roshan, confirmed the news and shared filmmaker's health update. In an interview with Amar Ujala Digital, Rakesh Roshan's daughter said, “Yes, papa had an angioplasty in his neck, but he’s perfectly fine now. There’s nothing to worry about. He’s resting.”

Rakesh Roshan is quite active on social media and keeps posting his workout videos, which are surely inspiring for everyone. He is looking forward to getting back to his workouts soon.
