Everyone was taken aback by Rakul Preet Singh's glimpse as Surpanakha in the Ramayana trailer. In Hindu mythology, she is referred to as a Rakshasa, who was the sister of the king of Lanka, Ravana. Many wondered why she accepted the position.
Rakul Preet Singh has recently addressed an open letter from a fan inquiring about her role. He said playing such a 'misunderstood' character also piqued his curiosity. Her fans even sent her best wishes for the movie's release.
Rakul Preet said, "Thank you for this beautiful letter. What made me say yes to Surpanakha was exactly what you mentioned - her complexity."
The actress further added, "History often remembers her for one moment, but there is so much more to her story. As an actor, roles that challenge perception are the most exciting. I hope audiences discover her with an open mind when Ramayana arrives."
Thank you for this beautiful letter. ❤️

The primary fight in the story is initiated by Surpanakha, Ravana's sister. Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana reject her after she falls in love. She then attempts to harm Sita, but in the end, her nose is severed.
