Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 theatrical debut turned out to be an emotional moment for the actor’s family. It is quite evident when Rishab’s wife, Pragathi, was seen breaking down in tears after observing the audience’s reaction to the movie. Rishab can be seen thanking the audience and other crew for the overwhelming response while the credits roll in the background. After the reaction, Pragathi was seen getting emotional and hugged Rishab from behind. Then the actor turned her around and gave a tight hug. The video of the same has been going viral on social media.

The movie explored the origins of Kaadubettu Shiva’s ancestors during the Kadamba dynasty. The plot delves into the untamed wilderness and forgotten lore surrounding his past. Kantara Chapter 1 stars Rishab Shetty as Berme, Jayaram as King Vijayendra, Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara, Pramod Shetty, Rakesh Poojari, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Hariprashanth M G, Shaneel Gautham and Naveen Bondel. The film has been written and directed by Rishab Shetty. It has been backed by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda. Arvind S. Kashyap has done the cinematography of the film. The movie is the prequel to the 2022 movie Kantara, which earned Rs 309.64 crore in India and Rs 407.82 crore worldwide. After the film became a blockbuster, the makers have decided to go with a pan-India release this time too. It has been released in Kannada, Malayalam, English, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Bengali languages. The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 125 crore. The digital rights of Kantara Chapter 1 have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, worth Rs 125 crore, as per reports.
