Robo Shankar Death: Tamil actor and comedian Robo Shankar passed away at the age of 46 on September 18. He collapsed at a film set and was then shifted to a private hospital in Chennai.  He was then shifted to the ICU, where he was closely monitored by doctors after fluctuations in blood pressure. His health deteriorated and he succumbed to illness in just a few hours. Robo Shankar’s sudden demise has created shock waves in the industry and several celebrities have paid tribute to the actor. 

Kamal Hassan shared his heartfelt tribute to Robo Shankar on X. He wrote, “Robo Shankar. Robo is just a pseudonym. In my dictionary, you are a human. You're my younger brother. Will you just leave me and go? Your job is done, you left. My job remains unfinished. You left tomorrow for us. Therefore, tomorrow is ours.” 

Vijay Sethupathi tweeted, “RIP (folded hand emojis).”  Actor Karthi wrote on X, “Mahi! You have left us all shocked and bereaved. How do we all console ourselves…RIP dear one. May your memory remind us always of the need to look out for and care for one another.” Filmmaker Raghava Lawrence wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Robo Shankar His contribution to entertainment will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”

Vishnu Vishal tweeted, “Probably the most iconic comedy scene in my films.. Without him, it wouldn't have been this memorable... Rest in peace, #RoboShankar. Tamil cinema will definitely miss a talent like you…” Simran Bagga tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Robo Shankar A talent that brought smiles to millions. You will be missed. Prayers and strength to his family during this difficult time. Om Shanti.” Ramya Subramanian tweeted, “Numb and at a loss for words on the demise of Robo Shankar anna. Remembering the warmth,appreciation you always have shown and the little mimicry videos you used to keep sending me to put a smile on my face everyday. Sending prayers and strength to the family ,gone far too soon.#RIPRoboShankar.”

Robo Shankar’s body is being kept at his home in Valasaravakkam in Chennai for homage. His last rites are set to take place in the evening. The actor is survived by his wife Priyanka, daughter Indraja and her family.
