Saiyaara: Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan Panday is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Mohit Suri’s directorial movie, Saiyaara. The film is slated for release in theatres on July 18. Ahead of the release, Saiyaara had to go through the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cut. The musical romantic drama movie has now been given a U/A 16+ certificate by the film body. But before that, it had to undergo some changes such as replacing curse words, deletion of intimate scenes and adding warnings. As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker was asked to cut ‘objectionable’ words and replace them with ‘appropriate’ words four times. A 10-second segment of ‘Sensual, Intimacy, Body Exposure Visuals’ has also been cut.
CBFC has also asked the Saiyaara makers to add a static warning about helmet safety where there are two-wheeler scenes. The film got the U/A 16+ certificate after the instructed edits were made. Now, the total run of the movie is 2 hours, 36 minutes and 50 seconds.
As per a Pinkvilla report, the film has already recovered 75 per cent of its costs. The remaining 25 per cent, costing around Rs 15 crore, can be gained only when the film grosses Rs 37 to 40 crore internationally.

Saiyaara is about passionate lovers who navigate a rollercoaster romance, while navigating high and lows in their relationship. The movie features Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the lead roles. The film was initially called Aashiqui 3, Mohit Suri told Pinkvilla, “To be honest, they had pitched me to come up with a draft for Aashiqui 3 in the beginning. At that time, Mukesh ji and Bhushan were on better terms. I know, they have a very sensitive relationship. They are friends at times, and then they are not. So, I thought of this idea for Aashiqui 3, which is now Saiyaara. But they were in the hurry and wanted to announce, which is something I was not comfortable with. I prefer in having a script first and then make an announcement. But to sum it up, yes, this idea was originally for Aashiqui 3.”
