Sanjay Dutt’s Aakhri Sawal Delayed: Fans of Sanjay Dutt will have to wait a little longer to see his latest film, Aakhri Sawal, on the big screen. The movie was originally planned to release on May 8, 2026, but it has now been pushed back. The delay is reportedly due to the film not yet receiving a clearance certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Aakhri Sawal deals with sensitive historical topics, which has made the censor board members take their time with the review. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, “The nature of the film and its plot is such that the CBFC members are being cautious." The filmmakers have been in long discussions with the committee to prove that the story is based on actual historical records. Because these talks have taken longer than expected, the producers decided it was better to move the release date. The report added, "The producers of Aakhri Sawal felt that it would be wise to push the film to a later date."

Aakhri Sawal New Release Date And What To Expect?

Meanwhile, the report further stated, “At present, the makers are considering releasing their film on May 15. Of course, this will be subject to receiving the censor certification on time.” An official announcement is expected very soon once the legal hurdles are cleared.

Aakhri Sawal is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang. The story focuses on a very important meeting in Indian history that changed the direction of the country. It stars an impressive cast alongside Sanjay Dutt, including Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy, and Namashi Chakraborty.

Despite this delay, Sanjay Dutt remains very busy. He recently excited his fans by announcing a sequel to his famous hit, Khalnayak. He shared the first look in April, which featured the iconic song Khal Nayak Hoon Main.
