Sarzameen Trailer Out: Dharma Productions unveiled the trailer of Sarzameen starring Kajol Devgn, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithiviraj Sukumaran on Friday. The trailer, which is over two minutes long, depicted the story of a son going against his father and unpacked the crisis faced by the army family after their son went rogue. The trailer began with an unnamed narrator saying, “Jaante ho, kuch ghaav aise hote hain… woh tab tak nahi bharte jab tak unki yaad nahi mit jaati (There are some wounds that don’t heal until their memories fade).” Actor Prithiviraj can be seen playing the role of an upright army officer, whereas Kajol can be seen as his wife, who became a mediator between the father-son duo.
Ibrahim Ali Khan, who can be seen as a rugged son, adds a twist to the plot as he not only locks horns with his father but also goes against his nation. Addressing the conflict within his family, Prithviraj’s character can be seen delivering a thunderous dialogue, “Sarzameen se badhkar mere liye kuch bhi nahi… chahe woh mera beta hi kyu na ho (Nothing comes before my motherland, not even my son).” The movie promises to be high on action, drama, patriotic dialogues and power-packed performances.

Reacting to Sarzameen’s trailer, several fans compared the movie to Kajol’s ‘Fanaa’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mission Kashmir’. A user wrote, “Is this the official remake of Mission Kashmir because the concept is sort of the same.” Another fan expressed, “Fana vibe!!!” A third comment read, “Kajol giving fanaa vibesss. Can't waittt.”
Sarzameen is Ibrahim Ali Khan’s second movie and the nepokid has finally broken the trolling curse as he received a lot of praise online for exhibiting an extraordinary performance in the trailer. Praising the actor, a netizen commented, “Sab kuch perfect laga — IAK you nailed it.” A second user said, “For quiet some time you were nowhere to be seen...I knew you would come back with a bang.” A fan indirectly touched the topic of nepotism and wrote, “Star kid nahi, future star lag raha hai.”
The much anticipated movie is directed by Boman Irani's son Kayoze Irani, and is backed by Star Studios and Dharma Productions. It is written by Soumi Shukla and Arun Singh and is scheduled for a digital release on July 25 on JioHotstar.
