Saugandh Actress Shanthi Priya Reveals Why She Went Bald: ‘I Didn’t Do That…’

Shanthi Priya recently shared photos of her bald look on social media. Saugandh actress tried to break all the conventional beauty standards and set herself free from societal norms. She also shared how people called her an attention seeker for becoming bald. Shanthi denied that it as a publicity stunt. She explains the reason behind making this big decision and stated that every time women highlight in their hair, they have to trim, so she chose to go bald this time.

In an interview with Zoom, Shanthi Priya said, “Some people told vo attention seek karne ke liye (kiya), there is nothing like that. Attention seek karna ho toh bohot kuch kar sakte hain. Apne aap pe main ye experiment kyu karungi? So, I didn't do that.”

She continued, “Every time we do highlights and we cut our hair. I said, Why not (this)? When men can do whatever... they grow hair also. So when they can do anything and everything, then why not (us)? The hair will grow back. (So I thought) let's do it.”

The actress opened up why she chose to become bald, she added, “We used to do it in childhood. When exams got over in the summer, we used to go, do it and come. But after growing up, I never knew how I look in the bald (avatar). I just wanted to recreate myself and I wanted to see how I look.”

In April, Shanthi Priya shared her new look on Instagram and wrote, “I recently went bald and my experience has been quite something. As women, we often set limitations in life, go by the rules and even keep ourselves caged. With this transformation, I have set myself free, free from limitations and intending to break the beauty standards that the world has set upon us and I do it with a lot of courage and faith in my heart! Today, I also carry the memory of my late husband close, in his blazer that still holds his warmth. ♥️ Sending power and love to all the women out there!”
