Shaan Grover’s Audition:

He further explained, “They called me and told me that ma'am (Shanoo Sharma) wants to audition you, it's a big film. It was a scene from another film, it was a generic audition….I think a lot of people gave that audition, almost 200-300 people gave that audition. I didn’t think much about it, I just gave it.” Shaan continued to explain that during the second audition round, he performed a scene in a romantic way, much opposite to the scene’s demand, which was more negative. He then recalled that Shanoo Sharma, the casting director for Saiyaara, called him later at night and told him that he nailed the audition.

Shaan Grover On Switching Careers:

When we asked Shaan about what inspired him to switch fields from direction to acting, he shared that it all started at a very young age. He was 5 years old when he started doing theatre, and he also used to watch old movies with his father. “I was very much inclined towards the craft of acting and filmmaking and the process of being on celluloid. I was a big filmy keeda, like a world encyclopedia of films….that’s what people around me called me. I am just a big Hindi film phanatic,” he said.

While wrapping up, the Saiyaara star also praised Shanoo Sharam and called her the greatest casting director of the country. He narrated how his friend showed some of his videos to Shanoo Sharma, after which, she called him to train under her at the age of 19. Shaan mentioned that he learned a lot after seeing all sorts of actors under one roof. Shaan also credited Shanoo Sharma for making him learn a lot about himself.
